i used the disassemble guide that was posted here. i took my laptop apart to the point where i unscrewed the 4 screws above the fan and took off it's cover. i cleaned out the magnitudes of dust that had assembled, and much to my enjoyment i can now actually play things without any throttling issues. sadly though, my keyboard never returned to full function. if i press numpad, nothing happens. if i press shift, it acts as if shift was never pressed. i had to use teamviewer to log into wow with my friend typing the at symbol. obviously i could deal with this, but it's still extremely annoying. if anyone knows what might be the problem, or what to check for, please answer. the ribbon cable is in as far as i could push it, and as you can see, the keyboard works completely fine except for that. thanks in advance, and thanks for the disassemble guide1
parentheses; another weird thing to add, my razer naga works as if the numpad was enabled even though the light isnt on on the keyboard. close parentheses

Try an external USB keyboard.
If the external keyboard works fine, then the problem is localized to the laptop keyboard [probably faulty, perhaps you damaged the ribbon].
If the problem persists with the external keyboard, then it could be a motherboard issue.
Good luck and keep us posted with any updates. -
Is there any way to check to see if i really messed up the cable? Is it possible for it to function like this without me having broken part of the cable? :/ These are hard questions.. -
Just try disconnecting, and reconnecting the ribbon cable for the keyboard. It may not be seated in the socket correctly.

If PK re-plug does not work, you may have broken ribbon cable. In that case replace with like; New Toshiba Qosmio X775 Series US Black Keyboard Backlit
There ARE some non back lit versions so be care full if you don't see the small ribbon cable for back light.
