I've just won a used toshiba satellite m115 s3104, but i don't have the cd/dvd for reformatting. I want to reformat it because it is going to be used by a person who cannot read english, so i'm trying to install xp pro in my native language.

There is a partition in the hd with about 300mb in size. I was wondering if i could generate a recovery cd/dvd from this partition. I want it because of all the drivers...

If there is a other way of doing this, without this recovery cd/dvd, can anybody give me some hints? Where do I find the sata drivers for this notebook? I've failed to find them on toshiba's download page. Is there a way to get them from the installed system?

    MCUNHA71, are you from Brazil?

    thanks!

you can always install from Microsoft install CD's, using your activiation number stamped on the machine, but should should try and track down the drivers first. Toshiba's don't have a lot of required software specific to the machine (unlike Thinkpads for instance), so doing a clean install isn't too bad.

Y2khardtop is of course correct. However, if all you want to reformat for is to install a different language, you might want to change the default language in the control panel first. That should do it for you.

Go to 'Control Panel' >> 'Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options' >> 'Regional and Language options' >> 'Languages'. Play around with the different settings. You should be able to change the input language and menu display language there.
