So recently purchased a Toshiba Satellite A205-S5855 and i want to reinstall vista on it. the purpose of this is basically to get rid of all unnecessary software/programs on it. i want a complete erase. however im not sure how to do this, what precautions do i need? i dont think i need anything on the computer since its new and i havent downloaded or have any important files on it. what sort of data do i need. a cd was sent to me with the laptop called "toshiba recovery and apps/ drivers media" is that what i use to reinstall vista?

    Yes ,

No problem as the restore disk will have all the drivers needed.
Just put the dvd in you drive and restart.
It should boot up on the dvd drive and reinstall to factory specs.
Then you just go in and uninstall uneeded progams that toshiba
    loads on

If you do that, most likely you'll get it EXACTLY as it was when you opened it from the box. Only way to do a clean install is with just the Windows Vista disk. You can use ABR to store your activation code so you don't need to reactivate Windows after the install.
