Hi, I've lost the bios password for my L40 and was attempting to reset the BIOS by disconnecting the CMOS battery. Thanks to the excellent guides available in the forums I've been able to totally disassemble the machine only to discover the battery seems to be soldered directly into the m/board!!!!

Is there a way to change the battery without soldering (bit scared of burning the cr@p out of the board tbh) or a way of resetting the BIOS without disconnecting the battery. Any ideas would be really appreciated as it's a **** expensive paperweight at the moment!
    Thanks in advance

I'm sorry, but we do not allow discussion about bypassing passwords. You will need to contact Toshiba, prove you are the legal owner of the machine, and then they can help you.

To many people use this information to steal laptops and then crack them, so thread closed.
