Last few days all the sudden my screen goes blank whenever I plug the power in or out and I need to press fn+f5 ( switch monitor output ) to bring it back .

I discovered it does it also when ever I go in the toshiba power setting and try to change something so I guess this is where the problem .

Before I try to uninstall and fiddle with it , does anyone have a defenite answer to this ?

Do you have any S-Video or RCA Composite cables connect to the video out on the notebook? If so, this could cause a problem. Disconnect the cable before powering on the notebook. You may also want to check the video card settings in Display Properties. Make sure your monitor is set for the internal display as default. Some allow for the setting of an external monitor as the default display.
