    hey guys
i just recently bought a "used toshiba satellite p300" for my mum
and the keyboard is playing up or stuffed.. im not sure..

when i went through the alphabet everytime i hit the "r" OR "3" it comes out as "r3"
when i hit the "f" it comes out as "time and date"
and when i hit "c" or "v" it comes out as "vc"
is this sticky key, a setting or is the keyboard dead?

i also tried reformatting it but it still does the same thing..

    please help

I think the keyboard might be defective. Might wanna replace it with a new one.

Ya, sounds like a bad keyboard. To confirm, plugin an external USB keyboard to verify [external should work ok].

I had the same problem on my Qosmio, would type 2 characters at same time. Toshiba in the end replaced my keyboard, no other way to fix it.

From the way you said "mum", I'm assuming your in Europe [England?]. Here's a link to Amazon.uk site with "satellite p300 keyboard" search results; hopefully you can find something there.
    Amazon.co.uk: satellite p300 keyboard

This link shows how to remove the keyboard: How to take apart a Toshiba Satellite P305 series notebook
Should be a pretty easy fix.

Good luck and keep us posted with results.
