:budget: has what looks like a new model for sale. I will mainly use it as a replacement for old tower job mostly internet , DVD viewing, coffeehouse stuff, . How is the screen, is battery life really bad and how is customer support, compared to HP and Dell sempron and celeron models

Toshiba's screens are the best in the notebook market IMO. Celerons are usually weaker in terms of battery life and performance due to their lack of power management, which comes standard on all Semprons.

Thanx, best price on a sat. i've seen with the rebate. So an HP with a sempron would give better bat. life. Their screens are rated highly as well. I am getting wary of Dell they are cutting down on the warranty times and their lower level screens do not seem to be rated highly on the forums.

Yes Sempron over Celeron every time. The thing that usually kills performance on budget laptops is the slow hard drives, not the CPUs.
