OK, another question. I just got this toshiba, and somehow thie MS
internet expore is configured so that if an invalid url is entered in the address bar, in stead of loading the default error page, it loads some site dr. so and so. Can't remember the exact url. This site loads all kinds of spyware and I keep getting these Auroa pop-up adds.

I tried running Lavasoft Ad-ware. This gets rid of all my spy ware and stops the pop up adds. But as soon as I enter an invalid url in IE it loads the bogus site which installs the spyware again.

How do I get IE to stop loading this bogus search site everytime
    I enter a bad url?

This seems to be more software related than Toshiba related. You may want to continue this thread in the Software section.

But to quickly answer you question, you most likely have a Broswer Hi-jacking. You can try Hijack This or even try using Microsoft's Anti-Spyware program, just do a search on Microsoft's site for anti spyware beta and you should find it.
