    hi im gettting really high temps recently and i dont know why .
    the other night i fell asleep and left laptop on .when i woke up the laptop was very hot and the screen was black with little white specks eveywhere like static.
    i rebooted and everything was fine but im still getting high temps in the 90.s
    see pic . im still in warranty period if anything goes wrong but what can i do .

    ok just to add to this half an hour after making original post my monitor has just gone to a white screen and i could not get out of it . i rebooted laptop and it is showning lots of flickering horizontal lines and cant boot into windows fully . its taken 3attempts to boot back into windows but now this has happened 3 times in 2 days .
    any ideas anyone ?
    whats the replacement policy with toshiba ?

    I doubt its your fault.
    Call Toshiba in as soon as you can. They will tell you what to do. You will probably have to send it in.
    It looks like your CPU is overheating for some reason.

    i have phoned them at toshiba and are going to pick it up as its under warranty
    seems to me its getting so high when im using nero to convert avi to dvd but id have thought the laptop should cope easy with that task . its only just started getting like this .

    Ya, if you aren't even doing anything and it reaches 90C, its not normal.
    Not even normal if you are using nero to reach 90C, unless its running for a long time.
