    Hi all
I have a Toshiba tecra r840 which is about 2 years old now
In the past I have done some upgrades to it such as I changed the processor to an i7 2960xm processor but I was wondering if I could swap the motherboard out to a tecra r940 one as I heard the r840 is capped at sata 2 and I really want to upgrade my laptop to an sad but it would be such a waste of it was running at sata 2 speeds so I was wondering about the implications and possibility of interchanging the motherboard, after all they are almost the same, I think.

And also, would the i7 2960xm processor work in a different chipset cause I think all chipsets should be backward compatible if I am not mistaken just worried about the tip.

    Thanks a lot.
