    A85
Is a Celeron M, which means there's less power management vs a Pentium M CPU. You'll have less battery power because it runs at full speed all the time. The video card has shared video memory. It's good for everyday general use and light gaming, but nothing too graphics intensive. The unit weights 6.5lbs

    M30
Discontinued model. Low end Pentium M (also discontinued). Should have an NVidia Go 5200 with 64MB of dedicated video memory. It's better than shared video memory, and will handle newer games (but not the lastest). Weighs about the same as the A85 @ 6.3lbs. Have been reported by users as having a heat/cooling problem around the left palm rest area as it gets very warm to almost hot.

From the 2 units, I would probably go with the M30, but since it's discontinued, I'd reconsider. Just as an FYI, the A85 is currently on sale, it has a $300 mail-in rebate bringing the unit down to $500. Below is the link.

Personally, I'd hold off and save up a bit of money and get myself a good unit. Something that will last for a while.
