    hi
iv just got a toshiba sat p200d-10p an i was wondering if i was to fit a blue ray drive in it would it be able to playback blueray 1080p it plays 1080p wmv no problems and supports 1440x900 just on the desktop.

    spec

    processor: amd turion 64x2 tl-60 (clock)2ghz

    ram: 2gig

    graphics card: ATI Mobility™ Radeon® HD2400 supporting HyperMemory™ technology
memory : 128 MB dedicated VRAM (up to 895 MB total available graphics memory using HyperMemory™ technology with 2 GB system memory)

basically i can play 1080p data files i was just wondering would playing them from a disc make much difference to the buffering of the film etc.

    hope someone can help

I wouldnt see why it wouldnt play, but you wont be seeing it in true 1080p (true 1080p is 1920×1080).

I would get a cheaper HD DVD drive, as you wouldnt notice a difference in quality.

I guess you could be worried that HD dvd will die out, or if you output via HDMI to a HDTV....then I would still go for the Blu Ray....otherwise just get a HD DVD.

HD DVD where made by Toshiba (one of the main companies)

Blu-Ray I doubt will be supported by them as they are rival formats
