    hey all,

my Toshiba came with some software that controls the built-in 1.3 mega pixel camera, however when i try to start the software, well click on any of the buttons on the camera's tray-bar that is docked at the left side of the screen, nothing happens...

I have tried reinstalling the program and that didn't do anything.

any ideas on why the program will not work, and how do i get it to work?

I ended up reformating my laptop using the recovery disc that Futureshop made for my laptop, it worked afterwards, however they have released newer versions of the program for the webcam, and the fix may be in there, try updating the software:

    go to:

    http://209.167.114.38/support/techsupport/ln_TechSupport.asp

select your family (satellite), model (a200) and part number (PSAE6C-TH7ODC - found on the bottom of your laptop I think), then click GO, then click drivers and downloads, then in the right-hand drop box select your OS (mines Windows VISTA), then click on the link to download the camera software, though it is also recommended to update the rest of the software on your laptop too, just avoid the BIOS update unless you REALLY know what you are doing.

    Hope this helps.

look on the bottom of the laptop in the same sticker that has your model (A210-169), there should be a part number beginning with PSAELC or PSAFGC or PSAFGE, look for that in the drop down list-box for part numbers.

the site i am getting my info from is the toshiba CANADA site, so, after googling your model, i found:

    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe....p/productPage.do?service=EU&PRODUCT_ID=135277

shouldn't be too hard to find the drivers and other downloads for your laptop...
