toshiba pentium A 4 processor 538 3.2GHz 15.4 screen special at frys on and off for $949.99 and outpost.com sometimes special at $999.99. i have been tried to look for a good and reliable computer that i can use when i travel lightly and at home.
battery life is not a problem as i can plug in to the wall. weight should not be a problem as i do not travel often only sometimes.
but i go to frys 2 times specially for this computer, they always said out of stock.
i do try to order on the internet one time but out of stock.
is this computer good? do anyone here buys them before? would like to hear comment on this computer?
i check toshiba website, they have a pentinum A 4 but the speed is only 1.xGHz which is not 3.2GHz as frys claim in their advertisement.
i would like to go to frys one time to try them out myself.
i have computer in my office so the notebook is not a hurry. i can wait as i have wait for 5 months already.
i keep watching all companies special and wait for the right time to get mine?
you can email me back at [email protected] if you have any good information on this notebook computer??

Check the deal section on the front page. You may find something that suits you better. I would not rate Toshiba Satellite's build quality as stellar. Pentium 4s run hot which in the long run does wear as well on your notebook. The Pentium M is the best notebook CPU at the moment in my opinion. You should consider the "What should I buy?" FAQ posted in the hardware forum and post there. Good Luck.

hi,
I bought this laptop recently at Fry's. This is certainly a good monel. There are few problems with this model. These problems definitely would not bother you much but still let me say that
1.The A75 model has fans located at the bottom. Henceforth when u are taking ur laptop to bed and working the air gets blocked at the bottom and the sytem gets overheated. So u can work keeping ur laptop only on hard surfaces. I am not sure if this holds good for any other model. But definitely for A75
2.Something abt the quality of sound card. In a case where u are connecting ur laptop to External speakers u get somewhat less output than other laptops. This is because of the sound card i guess. But the quality of sound is good and there is no distortion when u keep the maximum volume.
I dont feel there are any other problems as such. I heard from one of the service centre people that its one of the rugged models.
One bad thing is that when u buy the laptop no body tells that u shouldnt operating it in a soft surface or in a surface where air gets blocked at the bottom. Its neither mentioned anywhere in the manual. Hope this helps u.
