    hi guys. my brother asked me to buy him a laptop and he is a diehard toshiba fan. he is looking for a laptop that has all magnesium or some kind of all metal casing. is there any toshiba notebook that fit into this description? thanks

    none from Toshiba. The only one that fits that description is Panasonic Toughbooks.. Check them out.

    The only model that might have this type of case would be in the Tecra or Portege series. But, it's usually not the entire case, just the LCD back cover or just the unit's base cover.

    The only systems that I know have an all metallic body are the Acer Aspire 2020 Series (discontinued) and the Apple PowerBooks that both use alimunum or an aluminum-alloy for the entire case.

    the IBM and Sony thin/light books have that titanium(?) shell that makes them real strong...and expensive.

    The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that is has never tried to contact us.

    yea, I thought the Sony x505 had a titanium shell, but I found out it's some sort of carbon shell.
