i am looking for a laptop to replace my desktop, and also to replace a tv.
    should i get a 15" or a 17" screen?
15" is more common, cheaper and smaller.
17" is cost $300 more, bulkier, but it's good for watching movies and does not hurt the eyes.

If you're not going to be carrying it around a lot, I would go with the 17" if it's within your budget. JMO

If you're looking to replace both your desktop computer and a TV I would go with the 17", just know that you are sacrificing some portability. If you haven't already, you could head into Best Buy or Home Depot and check them out in person.
