    Hi,

I'm considering buying an x200 (x205) that seems to have a dead GPU (1 long and 2 short beeps).

So I will try BGA reflow on the GPU, but I would also like to buy a new GPU.

I have looked around on ebay and I dont see anything under $250.

The only options I can see is an 8700m or two 8600m GPUs in SLI.
Is there any other compatible GPU?

Where is a good place to buy one?

    Cheers :)

I was looking HERE There is 2 different parts numbers for each VGA board depending if it had Samsung or Hynix VRAM.

Why don't you try baking the dead GPU?

I would bake it, but I would also like to have a backup.

I might have to pass on this notebook, I dont think it's worth the money if I have to pay so much for a GPU :(

Usual price for laptop GPU, they all bloody expensive, even if you can theoretically "upgrade" them.

I see some notebook motherboards that include a GPU go for less than one of these GPUs.

I did not bid on the notebook and it was sold. So I missed out.

Now I'm having second thoughts since it was a good one.

    Thanks for the replies :)

Motherboards that include 8600M SLI or 8700M GT? Unlikely :)

You're right, but still I was surprised at the cost.
