    toshiba tecra m1 screen gone dark

    hi i have a toshiba tecra m1 i was trying to clear the password when the screen went dark does anybody know what iv done the screen works but its very dark and hard to see any idea how to fix this????[8D]

    I have the same problem with an old Dell Inspiron 7000. I figured that it was bad connection somewhere. It usually comes back on after a while. I don't really know what causes it or how to fix it though.

    There's a good possibility that you may have hit the screen dim/off switch (thing that sticks out on top to turn the LCD off when you close the screen) and it could be stuck. Another possibility could be that the backlight may have blown. If this is the case, you'll have to get the LCD replaced.
