Well, I know my SLI is working. :) Thank You.

So for Christmas I decided that Santa is going to give me a nice Over Clock on my pair of GPUs. :D I looked around for some safe numbers to try out and went with these:

    Core: 600MHz
    Shader: 1200MHz
    Mem: 800Mhz

The temp guage in rivatuner was reading 59c and went as high as 65c. Knowing about the quirkiness of the SLI1 with covered vent and that the GPUs sit atop each other, I didn't wat to press further without temp readings I could be sure of. There are two temp guages in rivatuner, but they never seem to be more than 2c apart and are sometimes the same so I'm guessing they're both reading different aspects of the primary card. I need a program [FREE] that reads both cards temps.

BTW: With my OC, 169.09 drivers and everything else stock, the 3DMark06=7514.

Nvidias NVMonitor works fine for me. My temps at stock speeds can get into the 80's.......

Rivatuner works great monitoring both cores, and I also have a plugin that monitors both of the CPU's cores as well.... mine are usually about 7 degrees different, but both rise about the same amount when running SLI games.

They idle in the mid 50's to low 60's, and get up to the upper 80's at times when gaming, and have occasionally seen it in the low 90s , but only with the cpu vent OPEN... So, needless to say, i keep it closed as Toshiba intended it.

So those two temp guages marked 0 and 1 are the two cards?

While I'm on the topic of rivatuner...

Comparing the overclocking menu to the hardware monitor at stock speed & an oc with 169.09 drivers:

    Stock: ocm/hm

    Core: 475/513
    Shader: 950/1026
    Mem:702/702

    oc1

    Core: 565/621
    Shader: 1130/1242
    Mem: 837/837

[this gave me an 06 score of 7832. My temp guages [0 and 1] read at idle 0:61c and 1:60c and both of rivatuner's temp guages had highs of 73-75 when running the test]

    oc2

    Core: 561/594
    Shader: 1122/1188
    Mem: 806/802.28

[I didn't run this, just pointing out the difference it the two.] It seems that the clock monitors stay at a fixed point within a given range of values. The Mem clock stays close, this example is about the max differential. Which do I trust [and I guess, post], my settings or the monitors numbers?

And finally: There are some out there who deserve a "rep point" from me, but I don't know how. It wasn't something simple like clicking on their rep power icon. I was hoping for simple...

... AND I STILL AM!! Tell me and you just may have added yourself to my list. Chistmas is a time for giving after all. ;)

Yeah, the Core Temp 0 and Core Temp 1 are the GPU temps, and as far as the difference with the two readings on clock speeds, go by what you set them to in the panel. The monitor is off a bit, and varies from machine to machine. There's actually an offset setting in the options to tweak it, which will let you get it back to your setting if you like.... i have my core at -44, and my shader at -88, and the memory is about right on. But, depending on the overclock, they don't scale perfectly, but will give you a close guess. The main thing I use them for is to make sure I'm running at full speed and not in a power saver mode, as a couple times my games were running terrible and i checked, and my gpu was stuck in low power mode at about 187mhz.... easily fixed with a restart, but was good to find out.

One other little thing I do like about rivatuner is the Core 2 Duo plugin you can get for it that also monitors the cpu core temps on the same page, giving you one great spot for all your temps and speeds.... I actually have it set up to minimize to the task bar next to the clock and when i run the mouse over it, it pops up the two gpu temps, two cpu temps, and core mhz... very handy.

And, last but not least, to add rep click that little white icon under the rep power section between the green dot and the report a post icon.... and merry christmas to ya as well
