    the 899 has a faster processor double the memory and the videocard is the 8700 which means you are using ddr3 memory instead of the ddr2 memory of the 8600m on the 849 card. eventho the 8600 has 512mb of memory it aint going to be faster then the 8700.

    Definitely the Satellite X200-25I. For another 50 bucks you get a slightly faster CPU, another 2GB of RAM, the 8700M GT which kills the 8600M GT (wyvern209 - where do you see 8600M GT SLI in "# Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT - 512 MB"? By 512 they just mean 1 card with 512MB of DDR2 memory.), other minor things.
    What you lose is 50 bucks (small price to pay for lots more), 2 HDD vs 1 (doesn't say on site) HDD but MOOT anyway, one step down in screen resolution.
    Definitely go for the 899 Satellite X200-25I.

    Satellite X200-25I (899.99) - But I see price of 1,199.00.
    Anyway, it has Penryn CPU, twice more RAM, faster graphics, but lower display resolution.

    And where you see that 1st model has 8600M GT in SLi? :)

    Yeah, the 8600M GT that the 849 one has is just a 512MB version with DDR2 memory, nowhere on the page does it say it has 2 8600's. Definitely go with the one with the 8700.

    But that wasn't on the page to the 849 you linked to, this is what it was:

    * RAM - 2 GB (installed) 4 GB (max) - DDR II SDRAM
    - Please call 0870 167 0818 for double memory offer
    * Hard Drive - 320 GB

    * Screen - 17.1 in TFT active matrix 1680 x 1050 24-bit (16.7 million colours)

    Ah, that link was broken when I first tried it. The SLI one does score better at 3dmark06 but the 8700 should be able to OC higher plus you don't run into the problems of badly supported SLI. Still, my choice would be the 8700 laptop since you're getting it at a really good price.

    Go with the SLI... The "support problem of SLI" ppl pounting out is almost non-existant... All of my games (except AC, maybe because is too new) run alot better with sli enabled than disabled (COD4, Crysis, Gears of War, NeedForSpeed ProStreet, Dirt, TimeShift, Bioshock, Unreal Tournament 3) so they do support sli (as almost ANY GAME)... And the SLI will be better than the single 8700 by alot (around 30%)

    P.D : AC runs the SAME with sli enabled or disabled... Is not that you lose performance with SLI in this game...

    You'll likely need SATA drivers so that you can install XP since I'd bet the HDD is SATA. Without them there's no way to install XP, how to get them is to go to the manufacturer's site (for the MB) and download their chipset drivers. Yours will be from Intel since it's the Intel PM965 chipset.

    Well i tell you because i own the SLI so i know how it performs... I have seen videos of ppl playing with the 8700M GT, and also post of ppl saying how many FPS they get with that card, and i always get better performance... That's why i tell you that the SLI 8600 is better...

    SLI isn't a new Technology, ppl still think there is almost no support for it, when actually there is... Nvidia want ppl to go SLI, even TRI-SLI, that's why they support it better than before...
