I have a Toshiba Portege s100. It was my first laptop that i got 5 or 6 years ago. One of those laptops that have gone everywhere with you and been through everything. Anyway one week i decided to get an extended life battery for it. the thing was huge. unfortunatly it was to heavy for its own weight. One day the battery came unlatched and fell out why the notebook was running.

this was end of my notebook. from now on all it does when you turn it on is show garbage on the screen. like someone just held the letter a down until it filled the whole screen. the weird thing is when you first boot you can see the toshiba splash screen for about 2 seconds before everything goes bad.

If anyone has any suggestions what it could be or how to fix my beloved toshiba i would be most greatful. its not a powerful machine. probrably not even worth a doorstop. but i miss it. any suggestions would be great.
