    1)it is not possible
2)x9100 will cost more then your laptop,so i dont think that it is a good idea to change the CPU

I believe your laptop only has the 667MHz FSB so the newer X9100 will not really work as your bios may not support or recognize it and the X9100 uses the newer 1033MHz FSB. The fastest 667MHz FSB Intel CPU is I *believe* the T7600 which runs at 2.33GHz. There is a *chance* that your laptop may also be upgraded to the T7800 which runs at 2.6GHz but that is now using the 800MHz FSB. You will have to do some researching, I wish you the best as upgrading is fun but it can also be nerve racking as you do not know if it will work or not, etc. I hope this helps. Keep us updated. God Bless :)

The X9000 is the fastest CPU that you can throw in there (or any T9xxx or T8xxx). No Pxxxx processors will work as Centrino 2 uses a new socket.

I am 99.8% sure that I am correct because I had seen an Austrailian X205 with an X9000 installed (The owner here is Belca) and a few people with the popular Gateway P-6831FX have upgraded it from a T5450 to the X9000 with no problems at all. The X9000 is just like any other Penryn because it has a 800MHz FSB, but it is the only Penryn to have an unlocked multiplier. I cannot guarantee BIOS manipulation of the multiplier, however, but the processor will still run at its stock 2.8GHz.
