hey guys, i have a 9359 and i have 2 problems with the sound.

    1. the speakers sound scratchy at times, and when i play songs on itunes, they sometimes become very scratchy...is there an easy way to fix this? or do i have to send it to toshiba?

    2. I'm sure you guys can help me with this second one. For some reason, sound from aim, internet explorer, and other apps turn off and on on their own. but whenever i use itunes, the songs will play, and the sounds from aim, ie, etc. will work, but when i pause the song, all other sounds stop too. has anyone had this problem before?? and how did you fix it? thanks

Most likely there is a resonance problem with your case. All X20x cases have resonant frequencies, but on some problem is lot worse then on others.

Try to play loud sounds with following frequencies: 367 Hz, 469 Hz, 539 Hz
You can use any tone generator, for example, "SineGen".

And see if the case will vibrate and cause the additional vibrating sounds that will interfere with the clear tone. Try to pinch the right side of the laptop (around CD lid) and you should see that vibration & wrong sound disappears.

If it will, try to gently knock the affected case areas, to let them "settle down" a little and see if it will help to reduce the parasite sounds. Maybe it will help.

One thing I noticed on my Sli1 was that the sound was much, much clearer when the system volume was turned all the way up and then i adjusted app. volumes to the right level. Not sure if your "scratchy" sound is distortion or rattling parts but hope this helps.

Type in the desired frequency, or just pull the frequency thumb.

Press "power" for it to start sound. If it will not produce continuous sound, use "setup" to set Latency to about 50 ms and Pre-Buffer to about 250 ms. Adjust volume with "Power"
