I have a x775 with the 1600x900 screen and would like to upgrade it to a glossy 1080p screen. I have seen a few threads that mentioned people used a Dell XPS17 screen but never listed the part numbers etc. Any help out there from anyone who has done it?

I am on the same boat with you. But there are not enough documentation and user views on Qosmios for a reason I do not know. Seeing similar threads filled with posts in Asus, Alienware and MSI forums gets me a little disappointed.

I own a qosmio x775 and would like to swap my 900p 60 hz monitor with a 1080p 120 hz if possible. In the forums I saw someone who changed his 900p to a Dell 1080p with success but mine is not only about the resolution but also about the refresh rate.

Although it is possible to replace the stock monitor with a higher resolution version, will it be possible to upgrade to a 120 hz from a 60 hz one?

Please do not suggest me to go and ask the laptop screen dealers these questions because they never take risks and never advise you to change the lcd of your laptop with a new one that does not exactly match its model name.

    Thx.
