Correct Panasonic’s Mistake!
If you upgrade your keyboard to an Emissive Keyboard you will most likely lose your hot key markings. Even if you get one of the rare emissive keyboards that have these markings or even a standard keyboard, they are quite small and hard to see in low-light.
I have the perfect solution, a keyboard label printed on high quality, high contrast, weather resistant material. These labels are original artwork and should be intrinsically understandable by anyone familiar with the hot key functions of the CF-29. They should be stuck to the bezel directly above the top keys. I have also included a GPS marked key for those that have this function or may add it. Using the shortcut command native to Windows use this previously undefined key to start your favorite GPS mapping software quickly with just one button.
Frankly, I think that these labels look pretty cool and I’m happy with the way they came out! You can't make two labels for cheaper, using the quality special materials I have, for less money!

Labels are only $2.90 (USD) each mailed CONUS for the first label and $2.00 each for all other labels. Sorry, but if you remove your keyboard the screws will damage your label, but at this cheap price, order two. Vendors, orders over 10 labels receive a special discount! Inquire about overseas mailing cost.
I mail within 3 business days of receiving your funds, usually much sooner, and will take Pal-Pal. Thanks!![]()

I see you included access to the FOAD chip on F11 there...
well done.

Someday my prints will come... -
Yeah, well I figured that even if you were not on a public safety system you could use the latent Windows Shortcut command to make it trigger something "interesting"...
BTW, could someone tell me if the hotkeys are the same, and of the same spaceing, on the CF-18/19 or other Toughbook as the CF-29? -
those are nice Azrial! as for the Cf-18/19 they are smaller (the keyboard is tiny),but the same layout plus I think they shoved the tilde key up on the top row also.

Thanks ENO801!
Anyone local to Atlanta want to loan me a CF18/19 for a day? -
Nicely done Azrial. Very professional and clean logos. Once I get my emissive keyboard installed, I will be in for a couple. I hope you sell plenty!

Instructions:
The bezel about the keyboard has a slight curve to it, it is not flat. That and the screw heads that secure the bezel to the case slightly protrude above the surface makes a label a little problematic, but doable. Try and place the label closer to the keyboard side of the bezel so that the label equally covers the screw heads.
I have also found out that the Polyester label material becomes more pliable after being heated with a portable hair dryer. I used the hairdryer for a minute before I stuck down my label and then for a minute afterward while I stuck it down. This seemed to work well for me and allowed the material to mold over the screw heads and and curve of the bezel better. -
Nice work....

Very cool great work
-
I would love to get some feedback from the buyers, good or bad! -
Azrial,
Sent you a PM. -
I would think that the screw holes could be beveled out a little on their bottoms by about .5mm to llow flush fit.... Either that or swapping in flatter headed screws...
Of course the hair dryer treatment will work too. -

Nice labels Azrial. PM sent for a couple more. I've gotten used to them and want an extra or two to put on my non-emmissive keyboards. Keep up the good work. Also I really like your sight search tool. I stickied it to the upper tool bar in Firefox.

And mailed to Canada is how much?

Wow Gork!, Thanks for the kind review!
Wyrmwerx, you have PM! -
Guys, still available and I am caught up on orders.
If you need a luminescent emissivie keyboard check HERE but they really help on the standard unlighted keyboard as well. -
I can't stand Google's ethics or monopolistic business model so I am always looking for alternatives. I have used Startpage Search Engine as it emphasizes privacy. Then I stumbled upon Yippy - that is a handy desktop as well as a search engine.
Your "TEST site:forum.notebookreview.com/panasonic" works fine in both.
Thanks! -

Hey Gork!
Thanks for minding the store!
AdamWest, you have PM! -
The problem is not the screws! On the three CF-29 I have added the label to, the screws are just not what is causing the slight buckle. The real problem is the bend in the bezel.
If screws are running a bit high, I would suggest taking a drill of approximately the correct size and ever so slightly countersinking the hole a bit more. I did mine by hand without even chucking the bit in a drill motor and it helped.
Other then that I have not found a solution, but it really have not been much of a problem for me, it is just not perfect!
Have any of the rest of you found the slight buckling to be more troublesome, or found a better solution? -
Ordered two labels, received them both quickly; great product, good price: thanks Azrial!

Forgot to post.
*ordered 2 and they got here quicker than the laptop.
*left the reference nodes in place, they didn't bother me as they help me when the decal is not visible in pitch black.
*Took the time to apply the decal and later realized the ribbon for illumination was upside down.
*Reapplied same one on again and it is still holding on. In the event it falls I have a back up one. -
It would also not be that hard to fabricate one.
Alas the small bulge seems to bother others more then me, so I will leave this undertaking to the irked. I do wonder what a replacement cost though... If they were cheap enough I might be motivated to give it a try!
BTW, a few of you have sent me something for use on my Toughbook out of the goodness of your heart, if you need a label just let me know! -
Hey Guys, I am on my last sheet of labels (22) when these are gone I will be out of the material I was printing them on. Despite the initial flurry I have sold all 9 sheets of these things so far! However, I see the demand tapering off and when these are gone I doubt that I will print more.
Unless, I broaden my market to eBay, but of course then I would have to sell them for more to compensate for the listing cost. If I did that I could not sell them here for less without running into an eBay problem...
So, I am unsure what I want to do at this time, just a heads up that things may change for this item.
Thanks to any and all that have found some value in my idea! It has been fun! -
Only 19 left. Franky I believe that the market is about saturated and do not plan to make more.
-
Was there a way to add a link to the emissive keys one or was that idea shot down?

Yes a link for them to see the decals unless they memorized the keys. I took the 1st one off to get under the keyboard and thought I memorized them but in the event of trying to mute sound I put it to sleep.
-
Well Guys, all good things eventually come to an end and I have sold out of these labels and do not plan to order the material to print more. It was fun having a small Toughbook business to pay for my CF-29 with mods and I sold them all over the USA and in 4 foreign countries.
Thanks for the orders!
