I have damaged the touchpad on my TB, the model number is: CF 19 FHG83AM which IIRC is a MKII so need a replacement.
I can see the crease in the actual pad but all the ads I have seen show the palm rest is included as well, do I need all that?
Next step, apart from the cost price, I also need a price to ship it to: Aguilas 30880 Murcia Spain
regards
Dave

I was ready to send you an entire empty bottom housing with touchpad.
I imagine shipping to Spain would be pricy. -
Hi Shawn, I have never stripped my TB apart from fitting the modem so I am in the dark as to how far to strip the minimum part I need i.e. the touchpad. I do know that Spain has horrendous import charges weighed against the parcels value, so a parcel marked as a 'gift'
should not attract too much attention. Let me know how far I need to strip to get the touchpad transferred and a how much you want and a 'guesstimate' at shipping cost?
Many thanks

The front piece that is silver is simply taped down, remove the keyboard so you don't damage it and you will be able to lift that piece off exposing the actual touch pad. It also is taped down and easy to replace.

Nice post Kerry,
I assumed they were held on the same as a CF30 and you needed a 4 foot crowbar and a Hurst tool to remove them.
Do you need to remove the base of the CF19 at all? -
Great post, that allays the fears that I am unlikely to do any more damage that it already has, funny I had the same size crowbar ready that Shawn has.
Keep me in the loop please Shawn about cost/shipping please.
Many thanks -
Shipping to Spain is $25.00 and I need $25.00 for the touchpad alone or the whole bottom housing with touchpad. Shipping cost from USPS is the same for the touchpad alone or the whole housing.
Check these out.
They may be a better option for you, rather than coming from across the pond..

From Canada, You don't need ten, but if you ask he may sell you one.

This photo shows the palmrest/touchpad being glued down very securely. That is very high bond tape. Possibly the one in the above photo was already changed? By the looks of this photo, the palmrest will need heat to remove. I would swap everything to a better housing...

Just about to drop the coin on the euro one but, will the MK I fit my MK II before I commit?
many thanks -
Yes it will fit....
-
It's not too bad, start at the keyboard side as it has to come loose first, you'll see. Use a knife with a stiff blade to pry up/cut tape.

Thanks all, I have ordered and paid for it, should be here by the 27th, I will be in the UK when it arrives but someone will pick it up for me, I will attempt a fit in the first week of May, I will get back to you with the result.
Thanks again

If you choose to swap the palmrest and touchpad on your housing, I would try to remove your broken one FIRST...That way you have an idea of what you are getting into.

OK Shawn will do,
