(very detailed and huge pictures here)

    4) $80.00 + shipping

    5) PAYPAL

    6) USPS

    7) EBAY len4jdk 100%

    8) The lettering for the "A", "S", "E" keys are worn but in the dark they're perfectly formed. I've tested this and it's guaranteed to not be DOA.

I don't know, never having been tempted to go there yet. I'd like to keep something cool to look forward to. The way the economy is going (and other things) I'm spending all my money on beans, bullets and band-aids.

No this one will NOT work on CF-29 (or 30).

The CF-29 and the CF-30 models are the same and the 28's are different.

I hear you on that one. I'm considering selling one of my Toughbooks, and I might put ammo in as acceptable trades :D (.223 isn't cheap anymore...)

    Sorry for that hijack...

Modly, as in my above post, I'm in the UK, the nearest I can get to ammo is chewed up paper, to flick off the end of a ruler....

Sad times over here... and cr*p for toughbook spares too...

Can this be added to a CF-28 that never came with an emissive keyboard to begin with?

Not to be excessively argumentative, but I was under the impression that you need a special hinge cover for the sensor... Is this not the case? Will I have to drill a hole in the hinge cover?

This issue aside, I'm really excited about the possibility of owning one of these rare hardware gems.

Yes you are correct ,the hole will allow the keyboard sensor to dim the keyboard under bright conditions saving battery power

Drilling the hinge cover is my one major reservation here (issues of sealing out the elements). I'd need to see how a factory-configured emissive-keyboard hinge cover looks.

I've hijacked your thread enough, Terminus, and I apologize. I'll continue this inquiry in another thread.

Let me clarify... If you have a CF-28 800MHz or 1GHz you already have the needed hole. (Just above the F4 key in the hinge cover... they all had it!) If you have a 600MHz model... Move along as this keyboard won't work. Also won't work on 29 or 30 models...

This is the lowest price I have seen... I'm almost tempted... Except I have about 40 of those keyboards... Just no inverters...

Terminus, did you disappear? No response via PM or forum since 3/11... I don't mean to be a pest, though.

Let the forum know if this keyboard is still for sale!
