Hello. Have a problem. Just got a new rubberized keyboard for CF-28, Mk II, 800 MHz model. The keyboard is much thicker, than a regular white chicklet, witch I'm trying to replace with a backlight rubber one. I need a holding bar, with a small lip. I hope that you will know what I need. I was told that one from Mk III, the 1GHz model will also be suitable. I have one from 600 MHz model, but hole pattern for the screws is different. I could gring the lip down, but I will rather have the original. If you have one, or two available, I will gladly buy it or trade for parts from CF-28 (have a lot Mk I parts), or CF-M34.
Will pay with PayPal, or in any other fasion you like. I'm new here and can't PM yet. Email [email protected] or call Voytek 604-439-1831. Thank you.

Yes, you'r right. I need a hinge cover. The one from Mk I will not fit. I need one from CF-28, Mk II or Mk III. Have the screws. Would you have one, or two? I need one with a shorter lip for rubberized keyboard. Thanks.

Yes... I have several in various conditions but I seem to recall that they all will pretty much work. Do you have a USA shipping address or do you need it shipped to Vancouver?

Hi, I'm working on the address in Point Roberts WA. For now it's Vancouver BC. Would gladly buy two of the covers with a short lip. The one I have with longer lip witch goes against and holds the keyboard down did not fit. I took it to the metal shop, but cutting did not work. Now it's not usable at all. Please let me know how to pay you for the covers and postage to Vancouver. Thanks.

To my knowledge... The CF-28 (800MHz & 1GHz) come with one style hinge cover that is not the same as the 600MHz style. The 600MHz is MUCH more flimsy.

You are, as always absolutly right. The hinge cover on CF-28 (800/1000MHz) are from much heavier gage, than the one from 600MHz. And are not interchangable. I need one or two from 800/1000MHz. You did menchion before, that you may have them. I also need combination modem/network ports. Thanks.

I have the 3M combo card. Waiting for the Atheros wireless card to arrive. Need only the ports and possibly cabling? I'm working on the antenna mod. The one you suggested from Mnementh. Perfect explanation. Hope, that it will work for me. (I have a gift to make things go wrong). So, ports and what you think I need to install them, two hinge covers with short lip. Thanks.

Voytek... I had like 15 or so hinge covers... all from the CF-28/800MHz/1GHz were exactly the same size and dimension. You are getting one that it almost perfect... And one that will need to be painted. I threw in a DC port cover for good measure... Just in case you needed it. f you don't now... You will in the future... Believe me! ;)
