I made a reasonable offer and it was accepted on an H1 Without Hard Drive & Caddy here:
CF H1BDJBZCM "Toughbook"Dual Touch Fingerprint Bar Code RF Reader Camera | eBay
Now I am searching for a hard drive and caddy. I found a Transcend 64 GB SSD for around $80 but have yet to find a caddy for the H1.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
PS, as a reminder, frequently there are ToughBook items for sale with a price and then a Buy it Now option on E-Bay. I frequently multiply the asking price by 50-60%, you'd be surprised on the outcome. IE a dock for the H1 sells new for around $300. I made an offer recently of $69 and it was accepted, with free shipping.
Any way, you probably already know this, just saying. I want to make this H1 sing and am looking for a reasonable hard drive and caddy.

Look for personal messages. Wrote. But waited for a long time in Japan ordered from the factory, otherwise impossible to find unless a miracle!

Thank you Alex & Jeff, These H1's are too cool, and very reasonable now that the H2's and new tablets have hit the market. I'm ...ujgggggg, somehow my diatribe has been erased. I will start a new threat regarding different os (i.e. Linux) fare on the H1. Now that the H2 is out there , these little guys are way more reasonable. Google on utube and see for yourself:

you will start a new threa t to windoze users, in the new thea d haha
just kidding.
keep us posted, i'm curios how they fare (one thing for sure, you'll have to calibrate the touchscreen, and set it up somewhere in X init scripts, to load the saved calibration data.
I know how frustrating is to try to click on the status bar with the stylus, on an offset by 2-3cm touchscreen. In H1's case, you don't have a KB to just set things up quickly, so keep a small USB one, close. -
I'm in a similar situation - I have one CF-H1 which has caddy but no disk, and one without either. I wonder if anyone can help with some info...
I understand that some CF-H1 models came with an 80 gigabyte spinning disk and others had a 64 gigabyte SSD. But can it just take a standard off the shelf hard disk? 1.8 inch?
What was the part number of the Transcend 64 gigabyte disk you tracked down? Thanks. -

Sadlmkr (Jeff) might remember, he had one completely apart (I think). Jeff sent me a hard drive that he put Ubuntu on awhile back in the H1 caddy. I have a donated for parts H1 (touchscreen faulty) with a working hard drive in it. I'm on the road right now, but can have a look when I get back to New England next week. Moderator above is right, you might want to start a new thread. I'll have a look anyway and contact you. Best regards, Cleve

Used ones were made from a rare metal called Unobtainium. Call Heartlands USA to purchase a new one. Someone recently said that with shipping they cost about $140.00 .. One from an H2 WILL NOT fit.
