Seeing if anyone is interested in a non-working LCD screen from my CF-29. I damaged it while trying to fix the computer so it does not work, but it still has the LCD, metal frame, some screws still in it, and small white plastic and larger metal retainer edges/spacers that hold it into place.

I will try to post a picture tonight or tomorrow afternoon to show you exactly what is included

Price is $18, really just to cover shipping and the box to send it in, and a couple dollars for me. Just want to send this off to someone who can use it, otherwise it's going in the garbage.

Paypal is preferred. I usually ship UPS but can do USPS if desired.

If you would like to see feedback my ebay id is: abrasows

PM or email me if interested. I'd be happy to send it out asap to someone who's interested.

I take it then that you just replaced the whole lid when you could not find why your cf-29 backlite stopped working?

Yeah alex. Replaced the inverter, didn't help. Then attempted to check if the ccfl bulb was bad-didn't go over too well, pretty much destroyed the lcd :(

And no, unfortunately the touchscreen part is not included. Just the lcd and its little "pieces" as noted.

I appreciate everyones help though trying to fix my cf-29. This website has an abundance of information and all the members (especially the cool ones who own toughbooks ;) are very helpful. Special thanks to Psych0thrasher for hooking me up with a replacement lcd

I’m happy that is is working good again

It’s been months since my display failed on my cf-29 and I am finally going to have a look at it

Teo sent me a replacement inverter, and I will check connections and swap out the inverter to try to remedy the non-working backlight

If I fail with the easy stuff , it will be sent to the unofficial Toughbook repair facility located in Richmond BC ( Teo’s place) lol
