I am assuming that the bottom cover is for an MK2 model. (Your 1.3GHz)???

 

The bottom cover pictured is for the Mark 2. I also have a bottom cover for a Mark 4. I'll have pictures of the Mark 4 one up after thanksgiving. Aren't the bottom cover for the differing Marks the same?

 

No... If you look... The MK4&5 are different than MK1,2&3.... I think they may work as far as being able to fit... But the MK4s that I have (1.6GHz) have additional thermal pads (They look like anyway) that go over to cover additional parts.

 

I'm looking at the MK2 and MK4, and the ones I have look the same at the thermal pads.

I am not wanting to spoil your fun of Modding Toughbooks, but a touchpad replacement is a very difficult operation

A lot of removal and possible damage to parts to do this

If someone wants to argue this point with me ,go ahead and explain an easy way

I haven't been that deep into one but was going to. Then what the complete top? There's not much i can't do, may do it twice but, live and learn.

 

Well I have a Mark 1-3 and a Mark 4-5 complete main housing, so if you need it let me know.

 

Yes you need the whole base replacement as the touchpad is replaced from the top and the palmrest pad needs to be removed to do this
It is a horrible job
