    Update 04/28/2012
OK well interest has picked back up so I'll get another batch made up.
If I remember correctly, the last batch took about a month to my door. I will post the pricing once they are in hand, so sit tight.

Let me know via PM if you are interested. I will send invoices once I have them in my possession.
I will be contacting the manufacturer on Monday, if interest is enough I will have a larger batch made, which should lower the final price a bit.
Let me know if you are interested this weekend (4/28-4/29) so I can decide on the batch size.

1)Antenna pigtail adapter with MMCX female straight to SSMB female right angle, 55mm long (nominal). These are custom made to connect the Sierra Wireless 850/860 AirCards to the the SBC model CF-29HTM50BM. May fit other models of cards and/or Toughbooks if likewise equipped but I am not sure of this. The Toughbook should have the antenna terminal in the Cardbus bay with the MMCX connector, and the WWAN card must have the SSMB female connector in the correct location. If you buy for something other than the models above, you buy at your own risk.

    2) Brand new.

    3)

    4) Pricing varies on the size of the lot I get made up, should be around $15 with shipping. I will combine shipping for those getting more than one, which will lower the total price.

5)[/SIZE] PayPal ONLY. PM me your PayPal email and I will send you an invoice.

    6) I use Priority Flat Rate included with purchase price for simplicity and quick shipping. Again, I will combine shipping for those getting more than one, which will lower the total price.

    7) 100% positive feedback on ebaY, member name sunriseshell.

    8) Here is the pigtail attached to the WWAN card (card not included):

This is what it looks like installed:

Your machine must have this MMCX male connector in the card bay:

I looked on eBay for those pigtails, NTTD was selling, they must have gone fast! I found two other sellers from China that makes them in 8", and they are willing to make a 55mm version.

    My Questions are:
Are any of those pigtails, NTTD was selling, still available, perhaps from another forum member?
Are they hard to make? Is it as easy as making RCA cable plugs? Or LAN/Phone terminations. Should I just get the connectors, the cable, heat shrink, and make my own? Does anyone else think there will be a niche market for these pigtails? It seems the unlocked Sierra AirCard 555 to 860 series PCMCIA cards, already have a niche market on eBay.

I would like to hook up a Sierra AirCard to my ToughBook's pop-up antenna, but the pigtail seems hard to find. I am thinking of getting a dedicated Cell Phone SIM just for my Toughie.

Aspiring to achieve the following connectivity on one ToughBook CF-29: Blackberry Modem, AirCard, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, EtherNet, Dial-Up Modem.

    I like Redundancy!

I installed my Sierra AirCard 860, and the pigtail attached easily, and fits perfectly, giving just enough slack to put the SIM card in without hassle.(the guard plate is removed)
Truely awesome being able to use the stock antenna to pull in the internet, without a tether!

Not being able to use the factory PC Card retainer plate with Mike's excellent pigtail is a small price to pay for the ability to utilize the 3G Sierra AirCard 860. :)

Yeah the only reason I do not use the retaining plate is because I want to be able to access the SIM slot. If I had a second cell account SIM I would put the retaining plate back on. In other words there is nothing physically in the way to prevent the plate from going back on. In fact if I needed extra security I would attach it.

Due to the larger size cable and connectors used in Mike's pigtail the OEM retainer plate will no longer fit (or at least mine won't).

One of mine came with the Sony card. The guard blocked the top port and held the pigtail in such a way that it could not be removed (nor the card). I see no reason to use the guard. If someone was going to take the card they'd just take the whole laptop.

Yes; but it's to use the Sierra AirCard in place of the OEM-installed Sony-Ericsson GC83 card.

Also, it requires the original lid-mounted WWAN antenna and lead-in cable leading to the PC Card bay.

Too long to fit behind the closed bay door:

If you say so .... ;)

See pages 28 and 29, "Using an external antenna", of the Sierra AirCard® 595 PC Card User Guide.

We are talking specifically about the SBC (Telco) models, I'm not sure what other Toughbooks come with this configuration.
Just to be clear there's the antenna and the lead that pokes out a bit from the CardBus bay. However a short 2-3 in (depending on card) pigtail adapter, with the proper connector (again varies from card to card), is needed to connect the antenna cable to a WWAN card. The antenna cable does not connect directly to the card, I too made this assumption at first.
More in the 29 official thread.

I'm sure the PC Card Retainer Plate ( "guard") was/is there to prevent the SBC Field Tech from removing the OEM-installed Sony-Ericsson GC83 WWAN card (like they didn't have Phillips head screwdrivers in their Tool Kits ).
