Won't the CF-30 adapters work on the CF-52? That's what I just gave to my Mom for the CF-52 I built her.

    Rick,
I thought the CF-52 requires a 15.6v 8A adapter where the CF-30 adapter is a 15.6v 5A adapter. The two CF-52s that I purchased always came with an OEM 8A. I know the CF-30 adapter will work, but isn't it bad for it to run under amped?

I also noticed the bottom of the CF-52 machine says DC IN 15.6v 7.05A

    Thoughts?

It will "work". It won't charge the battery as fast though. Personally I use above mentioned 7.5 amp IBM charger on my cf52. I know a lot of other guys here use the smaller amp chargers... I won't...Panasonic set the specs that high for a reason. "I" believe it will shorten the life and performance of the cf52 to under amp it. At the very least it will shorten the life of the charger as it has to constantly work so hard. Higher amp draw means higher heat. But that's my opinion.

The newer the 52 the more the draw if it has the ATI card. The standard IBM charger has no problem with my sons Mk1 with ATI HD2300, but his MK2 with ATI 3650 has problems charging the battery and working at the same time. I have a larger charger we were going to test to see if that solved his problem, just haven't dug it out yet.

Cleaned up a pile of TB projects last night and found two used CF-AA5803A units with 8.0 amp output rating, so shoot me a pm if you're still needing these.
