Anyone have a good connection for a GPS for a CF-19 MK6? First and foremost is a must for reliability, needs to have quick cold start (seconds) and have great accuracy. Warranty is also a necessity. Many offer a 30 day warranty, not a lot of confidence in a product that only carries 30 days for a warranty.

I need a GPS for my work and it will run anywhere from 6-12 hours daily when a project is in started.

    Looking forward to recommendations.

I've never used TechTough's units but the consensus here is they are good stuff. If you want cheap, reliable, and more than accurate for anything you are trying to do: USGlobalsat Corporate
They are not internal, do not require dis-assembly of your Toughbook, have no batteries, cold start in the blink of an eye, will not lose the signal regardless of tree cover, deep canyons, interior rooms in your house under fluorescent lighting, and they consistently deliver stunning accuracy, usually better than the geo-referencing of your maps. they also cost less than $40 if you shop around. If carrying around something roughly the size of a couple of silver dollars is a problem go with TechTuff's kit (he'll give forum members a discount), if not, BU-353 all day.

Tony, tried to respond to your question but apparently there is a new "Spam-O-Matic" program on the forum (remember the Ronco Bass-o Matic?) which has decided that I'm a spammer. PM me for advice, hopefully the mods and the NSA will let us have a private conversation!

EDIT: Seems the spam bot has reconsidered.

Optional kit menu in the bios? I will check that out tonight. Out of curiosity, why would this be password protected when I buy the unit new? I do know that if I crack it open to install an internal that I will void the 3 year warranty. For this reason I purchased a BU-353S4.

well, it's made to prevent you from altering your own toughbook. I can't explain why Panasonic choose to do so. But if you want to add an internal camera, internal fingerprint reader, internal GPS, internal WAN card etc. etc. you can't do so because it will not be recognised in the bios. And for a fingerprint reader that is really handy.
