I have read the headaches that people had with installing Windows7 on the cf-29 that was only designed for xp. I DO NOT wish to go that route because, I use my laptop for work. I need a functioning Windows 7 with touch screen, audio, with Wifi on my Cf-29. I will install the signature software, antivirus, and other apps on my own. I cannot be wihout a working toughbook laptop as I use in the field to get signatures from my customers every day. The CF-29 I own is a CF-29NTQG2BM model. I do not have my notebookreview setup to send me email any time I get a response. So please send a reply if you have hard drives ready to go. My hard drive is a 160 gig model. Send replies to vendor att netvergent.ca

Also, I would like to be a seller/distributor of toughbooks. If you are in the exclusive market of selling hardware and toughbooks, and not as a hobby, then please let me know.

I have noticed that you have been looking for this for over a month now with now reply. I think the main reason is most of the members now have moved on to the CF-19 or the CF-30 Mk2 and up. The 29 just never worked very good with W7. They always had problems and it really does need 2GB memory and if memory serves me right you needed a 29 MK4 non-touch 1GB and took a top end from a 29 touch screen to make a 29 2GB touch. I think Azrial was one of our members that did this.

If your need this that bad then the best advice I can give you is look into buying a CF-30 MK2 or MK3 or even a 19 MK2 and up. These Toughbooks run W7 great. I have W7 on all my 19's and 30's and I have never had a problem. The prices have dropped a lot in the last 6 months or so that you could pick one up for around $75.00 to $150.00 . Stay away from the 19/30 MK1 because they have problems with there touch screens.

If you are looking to buy Toughbooks at wholesale then check out your local police/government auctions. This is where many sellers get there Toughbooks.

This should be in the buy/sell/trade forum.
Curious...What amount of money are you prepared to spend?
What you are asking will require bit of time to build.. I personally would bill for a minimum of 4 hours...
You are looking at between $160 and $200. For that kind of money, you can get a CF30...

yes, you are probobebly right. Perhaps wasting time on a old laptop. BTW, I intent to have two laptops, one for doing everything non work related, and everything that is work related. A cf-19 I suspect with the rotatable display can work. But also, like to find a supplier because in general, been really happy with my laptop as far as hough durable the hardware has been and the life of the battery.

I can consider a cf-19 Good to hold with its strap on the hand, and use it like a pad. Who is a reputable seller of these units? I live/work at the NW corner of the state of washington, in Canada so if I decide to resell to clients the shipping/cost cannot be to long.

It does sound like the 19 would be better for you. Easy to carry and a lot lighter. You can also buy a strap for the back of it (x-strap) to make it easyer to handle.

The killer for you will be shipping cost. Not cheap shipping from Canada to USA. FedEx or UPS will charge you or the buyer a brokerage fee ($30.00 -$50.00) plus shipping charge. Canada Post will be cheaper but they do take longer. Just under $60.00 .
