When you look at the front edge of a CF-28 on the left is a strip of plastic that covers some leds.

Our little guy was bored recently and tore it off. :-(

Anyone have a parts CF-28 from which I might acquire a replacement, please?

In addition to the plastic piece for my CF-28 I now seem to (on a recent trip) have misplaced one of the metal "cup" pieces into which the "bumps" on the lid of my CF-29 nest when closed.

Do y'all glue these things in place? I have been meaning to cause them to stop moving about for a while ... but waited too long ... :-(

    Thanks!

    doc

Doc... I am confused.... Are you looking for the WWAN switch for the CF-28?

The second thing totally has me baffled... You start out with CF-28 then say CF-29?

I most likely have what you need. You can either PM me or post here...

    We have a CF-28 and a CF-29.

The CF-28 is missing the plastic cover that goes over the "Wireless" push button and indicators along the very front edge.

The CF-29 is missing one of the little metal cups into which the lid "bumps" nest.

So there you have it, I need one part for the CF-28 and one for the CF-29.

Did I climb my way out of the mud yet? :)

See my post "Parting out HTM50BM" if TB doesn't help you out. If little guy keeps helping you, you may need the whole package.
I've got a pup "helping me".

    Good luck,

    Jeff

Hey Doc, long time. If Rick doesn't have the CF-28 parts, I think I've got a couple of carcasses left in the cellar. I'll look in the morning.

The outer membrane of the keypad isn't supposed to come off; the membrane keypad is supposed to come off as a piece. It's attached with some pretty wicked double faced tape, and there's a little tab across the top edge that slips into a slot to ensure it stays anchored. You'll see once you get the old one peeled off.

I have one, but I'm all out of double faced carpet tape to stick it on with.

    PM sent.

I may have to renege on the above. A previous transaction that I was waiting on finally came back on line. His services were down for several days and just came back on. (I know the feeling)
I'll ask if he needs the chrome thingy though.

    .
I came up with a cup'la cups. Do you still need one? PM me your address and I'll send you one. I was looking through the manual the other day and they had a rubber bumper that was glued in to the bottom of the cup. I like Barge cement for that kind of thing(shoe glue). Available in small tubes at a lot of supermarkets. I can try to find something to punch the rubber gizmo out of. I'll know more when I take the metal rings out.
I remembered this from my earlier renege. $No charge.

Yes... The cups are glued in place with (what seems like) silicone. There are two types... Black and silver.... Which do you have.... It looks like crap to have one of each.

When installing, just clean out the old adhesive and spooge in a little silicone. Push the new cup in and then wipe up any excess. Let it cure...

The one I have is silver but I don't care if the set is black or silver.

OK re seating them correctly, thanks!

BTW: You still looking for some FDD's? I think I have a couple here somewhere.

I don't really need them as nobody really cares about them... But I do like to keep the stock up a little. I think I am down to 10-12 of them...

You have PM and the cup is in the mail. It's silver and the cement was gray.

I am sorry, Internet has been up and down and some family health problems a distraction, I really thought I had sent a note of thanks!

It is really appreciated and improves the looks of my CF-29 significantly! Not that is is a showpiece by any stretch.

BTW: I used a little piece of "Mighty Putty" to hold it as I couldn't find the shoe glue and the tube of black goop for car window seals was no good and I didn't want to use Liquid Nails! :)

    Thanks again!

No problem doc, just wanted to make sure the mail stage didn't get robbed again. The last time was 1887 and they only took land deeds, and rode home. They had the shoes on the mule backwards but made a mistake of stopping to help shear sheep. "Doc"Standley caught up with them and asked to look through the horse herd. Jim Naphus said "well look at that mule, some fool put the shoes on backwards." Doc's reply as he pulled out the cuffs was "some fool didn't pull the shoes OFF the mule". click.

    G'day.
