I have a nice crack in my palmrest/bezel of my 29. I bought it like this, so I want to replace it.

I've been looking around for a parts unit on the internet but not much luck at a reasonable price.

If anyone has a palmrest, I'm interesting in buying.

    P2P me or [email protected]

    Thanks

OUCH! It looks like you have other problems besides a palmrest...

I spoke to a nice lady named Lauren Blackketter at Heartland today. She told me the top cabinet needs to be replaced. It costs $233.

I can't afford that now. This damage certainly dos not prevent me from using the notebook, it just shows the "toughness" I guess of the equipment!

I ordered a new palmrest for it for $23 (plus $35 shipping! man-o-man!). I'll tear this one one off and look closer. Maybe I can make a repair for now to save some money. I can smooth it out with a little JB Weld, and make it decent again. I don't plan on selling this for a while, I finally got what I want (except my other 29 has a build in SD card reader under the PCMCIA slot).

    Thanks.

Alright, I made the repair. Less than 24 hours from my order, the palmrest arrived (in a HUGE box, I could ship a laptop in it)

I stripped the old one off. I did a good scrubbing around the touchpad and area after removing the four screws holding the cover on- talk about gritty. I epoxied the crack after resetting it where it should go. Then I put on the new palmrest- looks much better.

It's all clean like new. Like when I first got it, I stripped it. All the bay doors and anything separated from electronics that I could remove from screws went in the dishwasher for a cycle.

I love using the dishwasher. It's so efficient.
