    Should have read this as you stated in your other post. The connector hooks into a notch in the MB and the ribbon cable goes to the keyboard PCB. You need top and bottom off at the same time. I have the plug and ribbon cable with it's exotic bend.
    Plus you need one screw and I have that. The question is "does the E model have the notch"? I may be able to answer that as I have to take an E apart again for a little arctic silver.
    $10.00 plus shipping and $100/hour to open the E model up. :D (kidding)
    Let me know, we can deal.
    I have a MB laying around and the tester plug plus KB PCB and could be coerced into taking a picture or two. In fact I think I may have them already. That doesn't help as far as the tester and leads go but again you may try ohlip.

    $10.00 plus shipping sounds great! As long as it's not fleabay style of a $10.00 part and $719.30 shipping. I am sure I can figure out how to make the leads but any info would make it easier. The screw on connection is an old style microphone connector. I am clueless on obtaining the software.

    Is this the correct part? I got the photo from a previous post by Ohlip.

    It's the price in my ad, I ship the cheapest way which as this is awkwardly shaped means USPS small flat rate box. Run-on sentence but it's early yet.

    That's the part. What else do you need?

    I'm letting the ebay /shipping comment slide as I am on my first cup of coffee. My sense of humor didn't get up yet.

    Things changed here and I am packing now. Tell me what you need. Refer to the pictures in the regular forum. I don't know why they had the modem wired in but you may wish to copy it.

    I found the rest of the system. Let's talk P.M. before I race madly to the mailbox. My 9 o'clock appointment changed to 10 and I was able to think this thing through.
    I'll put it here too;
    From the jack the ribbon cable goes to the KB PCB. One black lead to the modem and the other to the replaceable phone jack. That ends in a little push button mini-PCB.
    I have all this stuff.
    If you think you need to hardwire the black RJ-11? end of the black wire then you don't need the mini-pcb with the push button connector. If you DO use this you might want the whole replaceable modem arrangement.
    We'll talk after I finish my deal with a customer re: lambs.
    Jeff the multi-tasker.
    In regards to my names for equipment"I know you think you understand what you think I said but what you heard is not what I meant". :D :confused: :rolleyes: But don't worry....I have pictures.

    I can't seem to comprehend the whole rj 11 and push button deal. I am not in the telecom biz, so I doubt I will need the replaceable jack setup.

    ok, now that I checked the faq, and searched;
    wht is a vip sidekick? I've gathered that it's a modem, but some elaboration would be great!
    where do you people learn bout all this obscure stuff (I wanna learn)

    It is not a "modem"; it is an integrated tester used by SBC/at&t Field Service Technicians.

    The Tempo VIP (Virtual Instrument Package) Sidekick is best described here.
