    Wanted a CF-27 CF-28 CF-29 CD-ROM Caddy/pack .Don't need the cd just the caddy/pack.If it has the mod done to it would be better.Had one but took it into the IT dept. at work to get them to do the mod. BIG MISTAKE. Now I need another one. :(

    Blair, how bad was the 'damage'? I messed up my first attempt but managed to salvage with soldering "out of the yellow box". The old caddy might not be a total write off. Good luck.

    Tom, most will replace the DVD/CDRW drive for a better DVDRW DL etc. The mod is discussed in link above.

    If you check out the CF-29 F.A.Q here http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=241106 It will give you a very good idea what you have and what mods you can do from cd-rom , wifi , to "ata to sata" mods ....just to name a few......So pull up a stump and get in on the fun and in no time you will WANT MORE :biggrin: :biggrin: TOUGHBOOKS :biggrin: :biggrin:

    One of our fine "canada A" members from toughbooktalk/NBR helped me out . He needed something and I needed something........and now they all work great with lightscribe burners in all of them :) .

    Knowing what I know (with hindsight ALWAYS being 20/20) I would have bought all 150 of those $23 ones a few months ago.

    That's okay... It's all cyclical.... Someone will find a cache of all sorts of caddys and we'll all have parts again soon...
