Looking for a Backlight Inverter for my MK-1 CF-29.

Trying to diagnose a blank screen and looking to try the inverter first.

If anyone has one let me know. I'm looking for new preferebly but I would take a used one at this point.
    Thanks. Much Appreciated

is it blank or can u just not see anything cuz the backlight burned up? Try shining a flashligt into the screen to see if anything shows up. In my experiences the backlight bulb usually goes before the inverter goes.

Give that a shot and let me know I may have a spare bulb around here somewhere

I CAN see whats going on in the screen if I shine a light on it closely. Does this mean it is certainly the bulb? I just guessed the inverter because it seems those are more popular to dye out than the actual bulbs.

I assumed it would be the bulb if there were signs of flickering or color distortion prior to the light not working. I did not experience any of that.

I really appreciate the help. Thanks

If you can still see what's going on with another light source then it's most definetely the bulb. I looked around and I don't have any spares but you can order them from heartland. I think they are around $10 or so. give them a call

    I disagree

I still have not found the time to figure out the same issue with my cf-29 , but in my experiance the backlight usualy dims and changes colour (a pink when warming up during boot-up) before total failure
Could be any of three common problems
    Inverter
    Bad connection
    Backlite

Try to diagnose the inverter board first by checking the carbon bus bar( a rectangular shape that mount on the surface of inverter pcd board coz overtime the solder point of the wire or wires are getting loose, very common fault(4-6 wire that soldered to the carbon bus bar). As you can see it has some kind of covering like silicone sealant on the the solder spot. The inverter has almost a lifetime use except that the bar has crack on it. Let me know then.

checked all 4 solder points on the bar and it looks like they are all on securely. Picked the silicone away and they all appear ok.

    _any other ideas?

Did you try to pull it up(wires) slightly to confirmed that if it is still intact to the solder point?

I've got a CF-29 around here somewhere with this same issue. I swapped out the screen for a quick fix... But will eventually get around to fixing it.

Yea. I did tug on the wires and they were all soldered on tight on both the circuit board and the gray bar.
Im trying to decide now between buying the whole screen assembly (ebay) or just buying the inverter over at heartland.
It would kind of stink if I replaced the inverter and it ended up being the bulb or a bad connection.

Hey Teo... Didn't you say that you fixed one with a bad fuse somewhere? (Other than the inverter.)

I thought you said something about F3, F4 or F5 or something like that.

Hey! Rick, Its either F4 or F5 on the mbo.. It is located near the connector jack on the mbo. which mark "NR" see the schematic for verification.

should the bulb look dark or cracked if its the culprit. I just opened up th lcd screen (probably broke it too) and the bulb is a nice and clean white, connections are fine, and no signs of damage to it....

    Any thoughts?

I changed a bulb out last week that looked perfectly fine other than the fact it didn't light up. I glued the connections in place since they seem to pop out easily and tested it out of the lcd panel and i got nothing. replaced the bulb and all was well. if you don't get the bulb in to place right the screen will only be bright in the middle so be careful about how you put it in and make sure it's right :)

The bad ones that I have seen look very similar to bad fluorescent tubes... They were slightly dark at the ends.
