Sorry, I don't listen to that junk. JAZZ for me.

Actually, I bought a few CF-29s and found several speakers with leads broken at the speaker. No repairs possible so I need to replace them.

Do you need new ones? I have three or so floating around. I may still have 1 new one. Do you want the backs too w/ speaker attached? Mark 3.

They do not have to be new, although that would be nice and as for the back, not needed.

I'm sorry, but I can't stand Jazz for one reason only:

We play it EVERY DAY 10 hours a day at work for the last 7 years I've been there! GAH! And it's the same lame 15 songs OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN!

    GAH!

Each to his/her own. Right now I am at work listening to Jazz but on my Ipod. Right now I have 798 hours available without repeats. Don't get me wrong, I can listen to about anything except Rap. I just prefer Jazz.

Rob.... Jeez.... I hate it when you sugar coat things!

Rusty... New speakers are available from Heartland for around $15 each... Plus the shipping. Used are cheaper if you can get them. I stocked up on 4-5 of them a year or so ago. I am surprised at the amount of speakers that are non-working. I don't think these are blown as much as having had something poke up into the speaker from underneath.

I wanted to explore the possibility someone would have some of these sitting around prior to placing an order with Heartland. I found out today that I will need two palm rest covers so I might as well place that order. Seems these palm rest covers do not like Goof-Off at all. I was trying to clean off sticker residue and just made it worse. Oh well, lesson learned.

I commonly cleaned the texture off the cf-28's that had some shiny spots , it left a gloss all over
Never had a cf-29 that had a warn palmrest yet

The palm rests weren't worn. They had stickers on them that I wanted to get off. Other than that, they were in fantastic condition. Well. no more.

    Rusty,
I fully intended to scrabble around for some speakers today. However........the CF-29 that I am selling wouldn't power on this a.m. after being on the charger all night.(It had a green light last time I glanced out in the shop about midnight.
Anyway....I pulled the back and smelled an oh oh. So I spent the afternoon replacing the MB. I've taken several out but this was my first time putting one in.
Used my nose as a tester and no manual. Typical for Tinkerers United. :D
You can smell the residual blue smoke near the dc power connector.

Did you decide to go to Heartland? If not I can still look around.

If you want to share costs I need a couple palm rest covers and touch-pad covers.

I have been using "Goo-Be-Gone" to remove stickers for some time. Never messed up a palmrest .

I might try that next time if it comes up. I can certify that Goof OFF is NOT compatible with the palm rest covers.

I have not gone to Heartland yet. I need to come up with the part numbers first but it will not be until later this week. I have to drive to Georgia to close on my house there and won't be back until Friday at the earliest. Sharing shipping cost would be great if you want.

I found two used speakers. Do you want them? And I still want to talk about that H..land order.
There is a third speaker here somewhere. I'm converting back to a saddle shop so will probably find it in a while.

I would like those, thanks. As for the Heartland order, funds are a bit tight right now. I will have to sell off some of my CF-29s first. Sorry for the delay. Hopefully, next payday(two weeks). I just closed(read sold) on my house in Ga and had to pay quite a bit to get out of the loan. Tens of thousands of dollars.

Never did find the third speaker and I'm down to bedrock. Shoot me your address PM again. I've got a ewe lambing right now and if I'm not up all night I'll probably ship them tomorrow. These are pull offs. They separated when I did so but went back together o.k. Do you want the clamps too? There was Kapton tape under the clamps. As is untested WYGIWYG. :D

We'll get even some day on the shipping.

Hello. The "silver" on the palm rests of CF-29 is as bad for cleaning as it was on CF-28s. I'm also in need for the set for CF-29 Mk IV. Here in Canada, there is no parts distributor like Heartland. Heartland will not ship to Canada.
I would like to go on a deal with some one in the US. Have no part number. Can't find one in the service manual. I will send the money for the covers and the mailing to me if one of you guys will be willing to help me out. Please let me know. Also if you find a part number for palm rest covers for CF-29 Mk IV
(I believe CF-29 MkV is the same), please post it. Regards, Voytek.

Hello. Further to my post, I found the part number. According to the CF-29 service manual (an old one), the part I need is: "Palm Top Cover Sheet". Part
number: (K17) DFGP0198ZB-0. Have no idea if this cover will fit all Mks. I need one for MkIV. Is this sheet glued on? Any idea how to take old one off?
I will be greatfull for any info. Regards, Voytek.

Rusty, They are in the mail.

Voytek, I use a sharp wood chisel 3/4" to start the process. I don't like to use a screwdriver to slide under as it can crease the palm cover. Then they peel off. Slowly if you don't want to stretch them. They are tough. Be careful down by the lights near the buttons. Also their is a small separate double-sticky piece near the power switch. It's better left in place. In other words start top left and peel off to the bottom right. A hair dryer to warm things up would be handy.
If you have to leave the project cover it so dust doesn't get on the residual adhesive. There will be plenty of it. Especially if you replace the touchpad cover. You will feel any dust forever.
I've swapped used covers between 2 and 3 no problem.

    G'luck.

    Jeff
