I need a replacement touchscreen for my new to me MK5. Anybody got one in very good to excellent shape they want to unload at a reasonable price? Preferable an earlier MK...I don't want to do this again ;)

I just got one today from fleabay that works perfect on a Mk2. About 32 bucks including shipping. Seller seems to have more.
Search there for "Panasonic CF-29 13.3" XGA MATTE LCD Screen TM133XG-A01".
    Act fast...

Make sure you are buying a touchscreen and not an LCD if that's what you need. There are two touchscreens up right now on ebray. One with bezel which is the fastest way to install one(but it's used) there key words are tested and calibrate. The other is a new touchscreen element. FWIW

Could be I was just lucky. The "Panasonic CF-29 13.3" XGA MATTE LCD Screen TM133XG-A01" I bought wasn't described as being touchscreen, but it certainly turned out to be one. Works great.

    bluesmoke,
The Touchscreen is composed of a triple layer sandwich of acetate like materials, one layer being the screen protector. There are two thin +- 3/32 bands of gray tape-like material going completely around the screen and two inches up from one corner is a ribbon connector with four elements. This connector attaches to a PCB on the back of the LCD. Is this what you got?
I'm not being picky but I haven't seen a Touchscreen for under $50 in a half year of looking.
The pictures I see and the model number you mention are the LCD. If you got a new/used LCD and plugged your touchscreen in to it you got forevermore lucky as the touchscreen generally is the weak link.
I'm happy for you, just having a problem with terminology. :)

Prove me wrong and please provide the link, I need three Touchscreens. :)

    Take care,

    Jeff

It generally will contain the front bezel as you risk breaking the touchsceen panel when it is removed

The part # is correct for the lcd panel only used in cf-29 non and touchscreen models

    Here's the link

Looks like LCD to me but I've seen others posted on fleabay with a comparable picture that their ads states touchscreen. I've asked the seller for clarification and will post it once they respond.

Well, it appears I'm still learning. No front bezel included and no glass panel, so
I conclude that what I bought is just the LCD panel.
    Thanks for your guidance folks.

Seller confirmed as Gork stated the listed model is LCD only So how hard is it to replace just the touchscreen as you've pictured?

Depends on how many times you've done it. Personally I think as TC57 stated 5 out of 10. The difficulty is separating the laminate from the front bezel. Some advocate the use of a dental pick. The object is to leave the adhesive on the front bezel and re-use it if you can.
You can use the Manual method (as in read it) or my favorite which is tear it apart and see how it works. The Manual is very thorough but there are a couple things where it would help to have a coach.
I have a method that I have not completely tested yet as the touchscreens aren't here yet. I'll fill you in after I complete the project (if it works). Meanwhile order one up if you so choose.
I am making a point of not advertising for anyone so you will have to find the product yourself. Here's a hint: http://forum.notebookreview.com/panasonic/540884-cf-29h-touchscreen-prob.html :D
