You may want to consider a PC Card Fingerprint Reader.

I used to have an APC branded one just like TopCop has linked to. I used it with my 29 and the PCMCIA door closed too... It worked okay, not perfect

Thanks guys, but having seen the pics of the proper integrated Toughbook one, I will wait for one of those to turn up.

Heartland will be able to help you find the kit you need.

I myself would also like to know the model number so I can buy one for my CF-30 from Heartland as well. I ordered one in the past for someone on this forum and I don't remember who it was (tango maybe) or what the part number was. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

You might want to do some research on these devices. I'm on a few of the security forums and the general opinion of the usefullness of their technology is quite low. There probably are some devices that are better than others, but don't put too much faith in them.

I'll check on that today. I saw this P/N too but I'm pretty sure that Heartland has a different PN lol

Is the stock fingerprint reader for the cf-30 mrk 1 the same as for the mark3 your looking for?, cause I may have one for sale.

Of course mine comes with its own CF-30, :D but then you can always just sell the rest of it to someone else on the board.

Actually, the model is CF-30CASJZBM, and Im gonna list it on the buy/sell forum later today, complete with the pics. Overall its nice, lists only 140 hours, but its missing the battery port door, the power port cover, and has a tiny mark on the screen; and no hard drive or caddy.

I got two of these in my last big purchase, and was gonna keep both, but just cant justify it. The other is now my primary toughbook, and I like it. :)
