    Hey all,

OK, I'm officially looking for a 30 now that the 31s are out.

    Need:
    Core2Duo CPU
    RAM: do not care
HDD: do not care, as long as the caddy is there
Keyboard: do not care, standard is fine
Optical drive: do not care, but a caddy would be nice
Screen: touch preferred, but not critical if the price is right
    GPS: nice, but not critical
    BlueTooth: nice, but not critical
    WiFI: Standard Intel is fine
    Finger Print: do not need
SD card reader: nice, but not critical

So, anyone have one they are willing to part with? I'm in no rush as I have a 19 and 29 to use.

    eBay user: SiliconTi

    EDIT: Budget is $1-$1700

Up to $1700, but not for a MK1 - I am avoiding them because of the failing touchscreen issue.

Then again, I'd consider one if it was 100% functional and in great shape.

I have a 100% functional one loaded GPS, backlit keys, fingerprint, touchscreen, decent cosmetic shape, CD-RW/DVD $1500, I use everyday at work, not sure if I'd 100% part with it but maybe....

SiliconTi, You need to keep an eye on the flea, a new CF-30F3SAXAM just sold for $1025.01 from a seller with over 300 feedback-100%.

I've been watching FleaBay (and bidding on stuff) - but I have decided if I buy from them, I'll be pretty specific about what I want - no MK 1's and touchscreens only. That limits the field. I wish there was a good source for used ones.

Dewed - If by good you mean cheap, come on... The CF-30 is the shortest run product in the history of the ToughBook; the entire product line came and went in less than 18 months. Compare that to 3 years for the CF-28 and almost 4 years for the CF-29 and you'll understand why the available product base is much smaller and much newer, therefore less competition in the used arena to drive the price down...

PM answered, and mnementh made a good point about why you dont really see them cheap, you also have to remember that all the companies that bought CF-30s arent really releasing them yet, look at what flooded the market recently, its the MK3 CF-29s so companies hold onto them for 4-5 years sometimes

And, the technology jump from the CF-30 to the CF-31 is not nearly as drastic as the jump from the CF-29 to the CF-30. I suppose this is in part due to the short time span involved. I am for sure not feeling the need to upgrade to the CF-31 any time soon.

Interesting - I did not realized the 30 had such a short run. I assumed my MK5 29 was 4ish years old, not two. Hmm. OK, that makes sense, thanks.

EDIT: Hang on a sec - if the 29's are not that old, my MK5 may still be under warranty.

I'm only looking for a 30 because of issues with my 29.

    Well, stop the presses.

The 29 is still under warranty - I'll send it back top be fixed. That means I am no longer looking for a 30.

Thanks to all those that helped out.
