    hi bros.

if you have a GPS & Bluetooth kit for CF-29 and want to sell, please tell me within 1 week from now.

If you read this after one week, probably I buy a new one directly from a seller on Ebay as I really want to update this heavy tank to that function. :D

I use Premier Paypal account, paying quickly when I have your news.

    thanks for reading.

    Caveat emptor!

If that " ebaY™ seller" is "Custom Toughbooks" you may want to do a little "Thread Surfing" here in this Forum before plunking down cold, hard CA$H!

exactly that seller. I don't think that price is very good, but absolutely nobody sells that item now on Ebay (or even for about 3 weeks).

I even bought a CF-29 Mk1 which was advertised with a GPS inside, but finally it came up in my hands with only GPS software -> $%#$#@@$ SO MAD. I had to return that one asap.
The seller even did not know what exactly he was selling.

If nobody can offer this item for me within one week, I think there will be no choice.

    Thank you for your advice

yes, i spent a lot of time to read this post. And I still don't know much about the whole process.

Furthermore, I still want to add one USB FM radio into the Mk4, which needs an USB port.

I still don't know how can I do, but I just only know that the GPS that selling on Ebay will give me an extra USB port that I can plug the USB FM radio to that port.

I tried to find a post in the forum that show the way to create more USB port inside Cf-29 but I don't see any of that.

Did you read the Installation Instructions for the kit in question?

The new USB port is totally internal.

yes, I read that instruction before. That's why I thought of using an USB FM radio with this GPS kit, because I don't use Bluetooth function.

But I just make that plan in mind, not intend to spend a lot of $ right now because I am not so sure if that USB port from the GPS kit can supply enough energy for the FM Radio device.

Do you know that if I don't use this GPS kit, I still can create the USB port inside (i mean internal USB port) for the CF-29?

    thank you

From reading some of your post and the lack of knowledge you have with toughbooks you should buy a computer from Toughbook or one of the other mod here. They can help you much more than you trying such a project on your own. Trying to save a buck looks to have cost you several dollars in regret..

hi bros, thank you for your advices.

however, I don't think that the personal project I presented in this thread is the one that I am trying to save bucks. I think it is in the opposite side, because the GPS kit that the seller is selling on Ebay now is $212 included shipping, it should not the price for "saving bucks".

I absolutely know that I am a naive in Toughbook, but it does not mean that I don't dare to mod the Mk4 I am using now.

Buying from bros here can not be easier, however, modding the one we use is the most interesting thing, I think (even if we have to pay $ for that, if that is a mistake or a bad deal with bad seller, that's taking chance and risky).

However, I can not do anything without helps from bros in this forum and many useful threads in this forum. I especially thanks Toughbook and some others who provided me many good ideas, of course, included you.

By the way, I decided to order one GPS kit there :D
