    Hi,

I've got a toughbook and the backlight has died, or rather the inverter. It flickers briefly when turned on and then switches off. I've tried a working lamp with it and it still does the same, so I'm assuming it's the inverter that's responsible. It probably isn't a good sign that it buzzes like a hive of bees.

I've contacted Panasonic but the price and three month lead time they quoted me put me off ordering the part with them! Can anyone give me a hand?

    Laptop Model: CF-30ktpazn2
    Inverter: N0GF2J000003
    Inverter serial: *L94m0101*

    Cheers for any help guys.

Are you in the US? If so, did you contact Heartland, the US warranty/repair/parts depot?

Will that work? I spotted that one but there appear to be two (at least) different models of inverter depending on the CF-30 model. The one inside mine is definitely different to that (same connections though).

I didn't know if they were interchangeable.

Yup! It should work. I do interchanging many LCD parts on cf-30 before and I know that this inverter came from a TS unit. The only difference on CF-30 Unit with a ts option is the the harness. The cf-30MK1 has different harness from MK2 to Mk3. Mk-2 & Mk-3 has the same. To make sure! give a quick pm to the seller if it came from a Ts unit.

Thanks very much for the advice. Sadly the inverter didn't do the trick, it's still flickering and switching off so I'm going to assume that it's the backlight.

Looks like I'll be starting a new thread for WTB: CF-30 screen!
