I believe I can accommodate you. You want a palmrest, ram cover, and the rear doors?

I have these items for a CF-72TC and XC (P3/1.06GHz and P4M/1.8GHz, respectively). The biggest issue is that I honestly don't know how to remove the doors without breaking them (they snap into place).

Come to think of it, I don't even know what to charge for them! Since I'm new to NBR, I'm looking to be really generous. Can I get a long-time member to post an approximate value?

Would you happen to have a CF-28 hard drive caddy? I suppose I'm reaching here. :/

In an effort to comply with BST forum policies, here's a link to my eBay feedback page:

You have to hold it in the center with one hand and place a thin wedge on the side then you bend the door in the center out carefully and wedge the side .You will be able to remove the side as it only needs to be moved 1/8 of an inch
I have broken them before by not watching what i'm doing

Would you mind if I sent you the entire laptop? This would save me from having to remove the palmrest myself, and also from having to store a Toughbook with parts of its case missing. It wouldn't be worth much to me at that point, so you might was well have the whole thing.

It would come without a HD caddy, power cord, or optical drive.

I'm thinking $50 USD plus shipping. My plan is to put the item, with pictures and a full description, on eBay (if I can restrict the sale to just you). This protects you as a buyer, and I also get feedback points if you're satisfied. :)

NBR regulars - is it acceptable for me to sell this way? I figure it's more work, but safer for the buyer.

If you both agree, I see no reason why not. I don't see that you are breaking any of the BST forum rules as it is less than $100. I would confirm with TB to be sure...

If he says its ok, then conclude your business via email/ebay, however you like.

I'm on it. Bear with me... my week's a little busy. Fear not, though - I'm very much interested in getting these items to you in an expedient fashion.

I'm also trying to find reasonable shipping... best from USPS is $42.00, best from FedEx is over $100... s. I don't like forking over large amounts of money for shipping any more than you do. I'll look into UPS... let me know if you can think of anyone else who might ship inexpensively.

Just a heads up on ups
They charge very high brokerage fee’s
I personally prefer usps whenever possible as the shipping time is reasonably fast and they are reasonable on extra brokerage charges

USPS is usually quite reasonable, I agree, but... 42 bucks? That's embarrassing to even ask. Then again, maybe I don't have such a firm handle on economic reality.

    Sadness.

Probably the same for a $1200 laptop or a inexpensive parts machine
At least you know that on your end when you recieve it there won't be unresonable extra charges

The USPS International Flat Rate Box is the best deal around, still not cheap! Alex, do they add costs with USPS at the border? I thought they didn't. You guys should look into a freight forwarding service. I shipped 5 of the Lind adapters to a forum member in Sweden for regular USPS rates, he had a service in New Jersey who forwarded the stuff to him. It also gave him a US shipping address.

Whitecabrio - The listing has been up for nearly seven days, and I've gotten no response from you. Do you no longer want the item? Less than two hours remain on the auction.

I apologize for taking so long to get it listed, but I'm rather unhappy that you've not responded.

it's hard enough for us UK guys to find fair-priced parts over here, without pee'ing off people who are willing to ship from abroad...

I guess I must accept some of the blame, given the circumstances. Moving onward, however - cootuk, do you want it? I know you're looking for a decent CF-72. I'll drop the price to $40, plus $42 shipping (to the UK).

On the other hand, you've stated that it needs to arrive working, or you'll catch some heat... If you like, we can discuss pricing for a fully-functional system.

Thanks for the offer, but I've been persuaded that a basic CF-28 is the real way to go.
I believe Capt.Dogfish is going to quote me for something as US prices are more reasonable than over here.

You know how things evolve once you delve deeper.

Yes, in all honesty, a CF-28 is probably a better choice. Higher-quality system at around the same price.
