As the title says. I am looking for an OEM/Original/Genuine Panasonic yellow tip power supply. The yellow tip is for the newer models. CF 29..CF 50..etc...Amperage does not matter. Actually all I want is the output cable with angled end. I may consider more than one for a good price.

    Thanks

I just threw one away with a bad tip... although from what I understand you need one with a good tip right?

Yes, I came across those Lind ones already. I can get a whole used power supply for less than that though. Must be NASA spec Gold wire inside of them. Someone must know of a source.
    Thanks

    may I ask what for?

Check digikey, I got some from them for my lind ps and dock. I know it's 4.3mm but I'm not sure of the rest (4.3x3.1x1.1 maybe). It'll cost you $5 for 2 or 3....

    FWIW

    EDIT:
I hate not having a complete answer.... I forget the tip size, but I ended up browsin through fleabay to find out what the tip size was. It's the same as certain IBM power supplies.... or maybe I looked up the relacement power recepticle to find the size? SOrry, I don't have time to look right now.

    Good luck!

The tip size is 5.5mm OD and 2.5mm ID. Yes it is the same as many IBM(HAL) adapters. I have tried aftermarket straight and right angle connectors. They just won't work the way I want. The OEM ones have a precision fit from what I have read. That's the connection I am looking for. Especially on the recessed connection of a CF 29. The metal part is not the issue for me. It's the plastic part that is.
If you can find a source for the OEM style, I am all ears. I have searched Mouser and tried the generic right angle ones. They just are not a good enough fit for what I desire. It appears that a few of the Chinese PS's are coming with the correct angled connector. But my research is based on Fleabay photos. Not on any hands on experience.

I have some IBM OEM power supplies in perfect condition. They are a perfect replacement for the Panasonic ones. Teo and I use these in preference to the Panasonic ones, they are high quality units. The plugs are identical to the Panasonic ones, straight not angled. $9 for one, $17 for two, shipped.

Thanks Capt. but I already have several IBM ones including a monster 7.5A unit. I really want the angled end that will work in the Toughbooks, especially the CF 29 with the recessed power port. Aftermarket right angle ends won't work.

One issue that I have found is that the right angle inputs tend to take out the dc in dust caps when the laptop is moved around and the right angle adapter spins

But I prefer the panasonic adapters, they are very good quality

And, I woke up this morning and realized I was WRONG.

I ordered 2 tips: 2 for the lind 12v in and CF29 in, and 2 for the lind 16v out and DOCK in. The tip I was going to use for the 29 were wrong, and I ended up butchering an old liniere ps I had.....

Flea market, mom and pop computer stores, or even radio crack. You can get the universal tip(s), solder on your lead, and use heat shrink on'm. Probably the least worst solution that is readily available???

Otherwise, bite the bullet, and spend $10 on an "aftermarket" power supply. Wasteful, I know.

Aftermarket ends will not work. I have been down that road already. That is why I ask for OEM original genuine Panasonic only.
I need to use the supply I have because it is AC/DC in one unit. Something Panasonic does not offer. I need the angle because I am in a very confined area. The straight versions are continually getting bumped and will eventually take out the power sockets on my motherboards. Aftermarket angled will not work because of the recessed port on the CF29. The OEM units are designed to lock in place and prevent any unnecessary stress on the power jack.
The $10.00 aftermarket supply from China is an option, but I can not have any guarantee as to what end it would actually have on it. The seller might not even be sure. I know what the picture shows, but.......If anyone here has bought stuff from Fleabay China you understand. The picture shows red and you get chartreuse. I ordered a ide to sata adapter and received the opposite. In the end I may have to take a gamble and see what I get from Hong Kong/China
I figure it is simpler to find an OEM cord and use it. Someone here has one or will find a source for the cord/tip assembly hopefully cheaper than the $20.00 plus shipping Lind option that Topcop found.

    The truth is out there....
So I am I sometimes, WAY out there.

Somewhere on fleabay they sell little clips to prevent the cords from spinning like that.

I could not find the ones they are selling for that specific purpose but I did find some. I posted in the regular forum.

But "Big Blue" (IBM) does. :)
I have OEM Panasonic (90°), OEM IBM (straight), aftermarket Lind and Targus (both 90°) power supplies for my CF-29 Toughbooks. All have the "locking notch" in the plug's barrel (though the one on the Targus is not as pronounced as the others) and all "lock" into the power jack.

BTW: the P/N 22P9003 IBM is Dual Voltage (12V/110V). :D

    Thanks

I already have 2 of those power supplies. I want the right angle end to put on the dual voltage power supply.

I bought a very similar item already. It works on my CF 50 but not on the CF 29. The metal barrel does not protrude far enough to fit into the recessed power port.

Oh, I figured it was because he couldnt find the OEM version. I wouldnt use anything other than the original. Im not a fan of the 2 prong design and the shorter cord.
