EH, the details aren't terribly important. I'd rather get one here than on ebay, as I've had good luck here and trust the community.

I'm looking for a good price on clean 29. i don't want to have to buy port covers and what not.

Touch would be good but not required
should have cdrom sled (don't care about the drive, i'm putting in a burner anyway)
    has to have hdd
    power adapter or not
a good battery would be great, but not necessary
    don't care about OS
GPS/BT/all the other add on stuff is not necessary
don't care about wwan antenna (although it would be nice)

i'm just looking for a good price on a good base unit to tweak for my sister.

for the other 29, i just need a good unit with touch, maybe some ram, no drive, no battery, etc. I'll be swapping all my mk1 stuff over to it.

    Thanks!

You should check with SilverTrooper. He had a good one that I was about to get until this one jumped up and slapped me in the face.

    somewhere between $60 and $2000.....

It depends on where it's coming from, what features it has, who upgraded/refurbed it, and what condition it's in.....

Cheap "refurbished" unit from geeks, amazon, or similar, is about 350 and they often have issues (smell wierd, blemishes, might have to exchange the one you got b/c of issues)

OK unit known to be working, signs of use, 300-600

    Refurbished from panny 3500

Refurbished from a quality individual like Toughbook $1500+, but you knoweverything is good/new and in proper working order (and i've heard he does a fantastik job)

You can also get one from fleabay with heavy wear, issues, missing parts for $50+, depending on what's known about it, and/or what's missing....

IMHO, but then again, i've been know to be wrong

    The one from Laptop-Usa looks `interesting' ;) :
