Hey guys, my cf-53 took a hit in the side with the cd drive poped open and broke it off so I'm looking for another. I temporary replaced it with one from an asus k 53 that works but it's got glitches and would like a stock one.

Why not just replace the drive itself? The housing is still good isn't it?

CF 53 doesn't have a housing (caddy) like older models...Just an L bracket screwed to the rear of the bare drive...
I am guessing the difference between his original and his replacement is Master/ Cable Select or his replacement drive is going bad.
